- I choose a link to follow and either the system seems to hang or
access to the remote site is slow. Can I do anything to cancel the selection
I've made?
Yes. Use the ctrl-G key combination. That is, hold the ctrl key
down while you press the G key on your keyboard.
- When I enter Chebucto
Community Net using a modem and my phone line, one of the greeting messages
invites me to consider supporting a phone line into CCN. I think this is an
excellent way to support CCN but my budget will not permit me to do
this alone. I would, however, consider sharing the cost with others. How would I
find other people to share with me the cost of supporting a phone line into CCN?
Posting a request to ccn.hot-topics might do the trick ('g news' and in
ccn.hot-topics use the 'w' key to post). Also, you might want to drop Joan
MacIntosh (aa650) some mail indicating your interest. Joan is the Chair of
Resource Development for CCN and I'm sure she would love to hear from you!
- Seema Varma writes...Since you have told me about Go - Search command ,
I have been able to solve most of my queries through them. I got very good
tutorials for HTML forms and markup language. But I still don't understand how
to create my home page. I know, I have to make changes to my profile file but
what change [do] I have to make in it to have my home page come first when I
login…
When you first login you will always see the Chebucto
Community Net Home Page. To see your own Home Page you would use the shortcut
commands 'g browser' or 'g files', follow the link named public_html/ and then
choose the link named Profile.html. You can also place your Profile link into
your bookmark file for quick access.
To access you Profile pages for editing
- from the Chebucto Community Net Home Page (or anywhere on CCN) use the 'g
profile' shortcut command.
